Tour Plan
Pick up at the hotel/airport and depart for Samburu National Reserve. Travel north of the Equator to Samburu National Reserve, arriving in time for lunch and resting at the lodge. In the afternoon, go on an evening game drive on the outskirts of Kenya’s semi-desert areas, where you may see some of the region’s animals and plants, such as the Grevy’s Zebra, the Reticulated Giraffe, and the Somali Ostrich.
Dinner and accommodation: Samburu Sopa Lodge(FB)
After breakfast, depart on a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch. The tranquil ambiance and true wilderness experience set it apart from Kenya’s more well-known wildlife reserves. There is plenty of wildlife, and bird viewing is especially wonderful. The reserve is rather hot and semi-arid, making game-watching simple.
Dinner and accommodation: Samburu Sopa Lodge(FB)
You’ll enjoy a relaxed breakfast at the lodge before checking out around 9:00 am. You can visit a Maasai village on your way back to Nairobi. This cultural visit offers a fascinating glimpse into the traditional life of the Maasai people. You’ll have the chance to watch a traditional dance, learn about Maasai customs, and purchase handmade crafts and jewelry. After the village visit, you’ll continue your drive to Lake Nakuru National Park. Arrive in time for lunch, then have an afternoon game drive. In the afternoon, head for an evening game drive. Across the equator lies the Rift Valley's most famous lake, Lake Nakuru. Known all over the world for its flamingoes, it's alkaline and recognized as one of the natural wonders of the world. Lake Nakuru is now a rhino sanctuary, harboring a population of over 40 black and over 60 white rhinos, but the flamingos, of course, have always been the main attraction. At times, there may be almost 2 million flamingos in residence, forming a stunningly beautiful deep-pink band around the edge of the lakeshore.
Dinner and overnight at Nakuru Sopa Lodge.
After an early breakfast, exit Lake Nakuru as you drive to Amboseli National Park. There will be stops to view the Great Rift Valley and other scenic spots along the safari route. You can aslo stop over at Lake Naivasha for optional activities like a boat ride and a visit to Crescent Island for a walking safari. Stop and enjoy lunch at a restaurant along the way. You'll have a short game-viewing drive as you enter Amboseli National Park with possible views of Mount Kilimanjaro peaks if the weather permits. Amboseli is an excellent place to view many wildlife, including everything from Wildebeest, Giraffes, and Baboons. An optional visit to a Masai village is planned after breakfast. Maasai warriors are famously known as the proud nomadic tribe whose legendary prowess in battle and single-handed acts of bravery in fights with wild animals are known across the world.
Dinner and overnight at Ol Tukai Safari Lodge.
You'll have an early morning game drive at sunrise, then return to the camp for a late breakfast. Thereafter, you will depart for Nairobi, where your safari ends with a drop off at your Nairobi Hotel or airport. On the final day of your safari, we can arrange for your transfer to your preferred coastal destination in Kenya, Diani Beach, Malindi, Mombasa, or Watamu via road, train, or domestic flight, depending on your preference and schedule.
